Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 13 May 2025

These terms govern enrolment in and use of all programmes and services offered by Synaptiq Studio. Please read them carefully before submitting an enrolment enquiry or making a payment. By enrolling you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About Synaptiq Studio

Synaptiq Studio operates as an applied machine learning education provider based in Malaysia. Our registered address is Level 8, Wisma Mont Kiara, 1 Jalan Kiara, 50480 Kuala Lumpur. References to "we", "us", or "Synaptiq Studio" in these terms mean the operator of this website and the provider of the programmes described on it.

These terms apply to all learners who enrol in any programme, workshop, or reading group offered by Synaptiq Studio, and to anyone who submits an enquiry through this website.

2. Programmes offered

We currently offer three educational programmes:

Programme content, scheduling, format, and pricing are subject to change. We will notify enrolled learners of any material changes by email before they take effect.

3. Enrolment and eligibility

Enrolment is subject to confirmation by Synaptiq Studio. Submitting an enquiry form does not constitute a binding enrolment. A place is confirmed only once we have received payment in full and sent a written confirmation to the email address you provide.

Each programme has stated prerequisites. For ML-101, learners are expected to write Python comfortably before the programme begins. For NN-WS1, learners should have completed at least one applied machine learning course. We reserve the right to decline enrolment where stated prerequisites are not met.

All programmes are designed for adult learners aged 18 and above. By enrolling you confirm that you meet this requirement.

4. Fees and payment

All fees are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payment instructions will be provided at the time of enrolment confirmation. Full payment is required before access to programme materials is granted.

For the Notebook Reading Group (RG-MON), the monthly fee covers one session. Enrolment does not roll over automatically; each session must be confirmed and paid individually unless a standing arrangement has been agreed in writing.

We do not store payment card details. Payments are processed through our nominated payment processor, whose own terms apply to the transaction.

5. Cancellation and refunds

Cancellation by the learner. If you cancel your enrolment more than fourteen calendar days before a programme begins, we will refund the fee paid in full, less any payment processing fees incurred. If you cancel within fourteen days of the start date, no refund is available, though we may at our discretion offer a credit toward a future session.

Cancellation by Synaptiq Studio. If we cancel a programme before it begins, we will refund the fee paid in full within fourteen working days. We are not liable for any indirect costs you may incur as a result of the cancellation.

No refund is available for any session once it has been delivered. Non-attendance does not entitle a learner to a refund or credit.

6. Programme delivery

Programmes are delivered online unless stated otherwise. We make reasonable efforts to deliver all scheduled sessions, but do not warrant that the platform or materials will be available without interruption. In the event of a technical failure on our part that prevents a session from taking place, we will reschedule it at no additional cost.

Session recordings are made available to enrolled learners after each live session for a period of at least thirty days following the final session of the programme. We do not warrant that recordings will be available indefinitely.

We may substitute facilitators or adjust the session schedule to reflect practical constraints. Material changes to content will be communicated in advance.

7. Learning outcomes

Our programmes describe what a diligent learner who meets the prerequisites and commits the stated weekly hours can reasonably expect to understand and build by the end. These descriptions are educational in nature and are not a guarantee of any particular outcome.

We do not offer employment placement services, career guarantees, or salary claims of any kind. Skill development in applied machine learning requires sustained practice over time and depends on factors outside our control, including individual effort, prior experience, and how learning is applied afterward.

8. Intellectual property

All programme materials — including recorded lectures, notebooks, exercise sets, written guides, and slide decks — are the intellectual property of Synaptiq Studio or their respective authors. Enrolment grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to access and use the materials for your own study during the programme period.

You may not redistribute, resell, republish, or share programme materials with anyone who has not enrolled, whether for payment or otherwise. You may not use the materials to build a competing educational product.

Public domain papers and notebooks discussed in the Notebook Reading Group (RG-MON) remain governed by their original licences. We make no claim to ownership over third-party works.

9. Conduct

We ask that all participants engage with sessions respectfully and in a spirit of collaborative learning. Behaviour that disrupts a session, targets another participant, or is discriminatory in any form may result in removal from the programme without refund.

Submissions, notebooks, or code you share during a programme remain your own. By sharing work in a group session you give other participants permission to read and discuss it in that context only.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Synaptiq Studio's liability to you in connection with a programme is limited to the fee you paid for that programme. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of earnings or business opportunity.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from enrolment or use of our programmes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies to enrolments confirmed after its effective date. For programmes already in progress, changes will not apply until the next programme cycle. We will notify enrolled learners of updates by email.
